Rest of Hawaiian trip in a nut shell

Stomach Flu, Head Cold, and the day after New Years at the airport in Oahu. Let me tell you it does not make for a good combination. A couple things I want to say about Honolulu airport. Many of the Hawaiian airlines workers really don't seem like they like me, or maybe its their jobs in general because hello we missed our flight. I think they will be fully converting to robots instead of people because thats basically what's happening now as I tried to find someone to help me with the kiosk and instead was sent to a 2 hour line for the only two agents in the terminal. ANYWHO. we made it to Kona, the Big island. With a sick baby, a sick mama, and a daddy who is trying to stay healthy, our activities were limited but that's ok. I'm happy with a beach..

So the beach it was. Between wiping Lewis' snotty nose and making sure he didn't run into the the deep parts of the water there was never a dull moment. Until sunset we splashed, built sand castles and visited with a sunbathing sea turtle. Garrett came back from surfing and we had a much anticipated Mai tai, and watched the sunset. These are the nights I feel like I'm not missing a thing.

As the tail end of the trip came near we flew to Maui and Kauai for both just a night. Kauai may be my favorite island. I love the little town of Hanalei and the friendships we have developed there. And not to mentioned my fellow bad ass momma friend Petra Frankenreiter and her perfectly curated store The Barn 808. We said our good byes and were off to fly the red eye to LAX, and eventually back home to Boston. Thank you Hawaii for your warm weather, fresh lillikois, warm beaches, and lush forests. xx
