MIAMI < MAMI
Garrett and I (and now Lewis) have had a tradition of going down to Miami for art Basel every year. Art Basel is a art festival that original started in Basel, Switzerland. And now exists in Hong Kong and Miami as well. To say it’s a good time would be an understatement. It’s ridiculous. Full of people coming from all around the world for this renowned art festival. But though it may be centered around art it’s other big draw is the parties. Last year I got invited to a private Party for Madonna’s charity of building schools in Malawi. Packed with celebrities from Ariana Grande, Leonardo Decaprio (who you can basically find at One oak in New York anytime anyways), Kevin Hart, and the list goes on full of celebrities that are too cool for me to know of. After a special curated auction of personal items of some select partygoers the event ended with a very intimate performance by Madonna. If I’ve ever fallen in love with a woman it was that night (me and every other woman). So my expectations for this year at art Basel were high. And though I got to catch my lovers afternoon show at Soho Beach house that first Sunday and Scope art fair the first day, my Basel was cut short by croup cough! Oh the disappointment! My post I was planning was going to be full of photos of art that I loved, glamorous parties and outfits I so carefully selected. But instead I have some snuggly photos of little Lew.
Cute photo of one sick baby. Although I was disappointed of missing the rest of Basel, I realized something important as I cuddled my little boy. That he will someday not want to cuddle with me. Not want to be coddled and fussed over. And this is the ultimate heart break. No matter how aggravating his hair pulling and biting gets, I’m dreading the day that comes when he doesn’t sleep so soundly on my shoulder. Hold them tight because the moment will be up before we know it.
Theres always going to be another party, another night out, another concert but the moments with my family are priceless. Most of the time. We got to go to Key West for a couple days before Miami so here are a couple cheesy family photos..:)
